A kindergarten in Riverdale Park East
As a kindergarten, this proposal aims to allow children to discover themselves through the discovery of the space they occupy.
As proposed by the Montessori’s Method of Education, children have the freedom of choosing how they occupy spaces, which allows them
to be at the centre of their learning experience.

On the ground floor, the playgrounds slip under the datum, which creates protected spaces where children learn and interact within
the enclosed playground. This provides them with freedom within the physical limits set by the architecture.
Another crucial aspect of the project is the relationship between the communal and kindergarten programs. The project provides children
with ample space to learn and play, yet the public is also invited to occupy the roof of the project, which is an extension of the sidewalk.
