An exercise in geometry

The Mimico Food Market was an opportunity to design a roof for a market through the aggregation of a geometric form. My design explores ...how a pentagon can be aggregated to cover the site while preserving the pentagon's clear geometry in plan. The vaulting of the pentagon allows the canopy to have structural soundness and minimal columns. Food stands are located in the perimeter of the space and visitors can flow from indoors to outdoors.
